Zhude Tu教授简介:

Prof. Zhude Tu received his B.S. in chemistry in 1988 and his Ph.D. in radiopharmaceutical chemistry in 1995 from Beijing Normal University, China. He accomplished his postdoctoral training in the Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. In the summer of 2002, Prof. Tu started his faculty career in Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Prof. Tu had gained valuable experience in the development of positron emission tomography (PET) tracers for preclinical and translational clinical investigations. His group has been focusing on developing small-molecule PET imaging agents for investigating neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. Through his major contributions, three PET agents are transferred into translational clinical investigation for three different areas. [18F]ISO-1 is for cancer imaging; [18F]FluorBetaOX is for cardiovascular imaging; [18F]FluoroTrioPride is for brain imaging. In addition, Prof. Tu’s group has several of PET agents are in the pipeline for transferring into translational clinical investigations. Prof. Tu efforts have generated numeric patents and peer-reviewed articles, and he has been invited to give oral presentation in different international conferences and institutions. Due to his group’s outstanding contributions, his group has received awards from federal agencies, NIH, DOE, DOD and other foundations to support his research. In addition, Prof. Tu has been invited to review grant applications and articles that cover radiopharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry and other life science related areas. Except contribution to development and production for PET tracers for preclinical and clinical research, Prof. Tu is a very good mentor for young investigators. postdoctors, graduate students and visiting scholars who had received training from his lab, now are independent faculty members or senior investigators in different institutes in USA and China.
